Well, its official. We are no longer the parents of young children. Our oldest daughter has just entered middle school this fall, and a new season of life has begun. Emma is on the swim team this year and we have had to scramble off to practices, meets, and the inevitable road trips that go with the territory. I am really proud of her though. She is very strong, just like her mom and can swim with 8th graders two years older than her. It is a bit of a hastle, I won’t lie about that, but she has made some great friends here in Abbotsford and almost all of them are on the swim team together, so its definitely worth it.
On a side note, my mom called the other day and said that the home movies they took of our trip to Mount Rushmore didn’t turn out (mom & dad are not big into technology) so I made them a DVD of the pictures and video we had taken. As I took the time to sit down and create it, I couldn’t help but to “count my many blessings” as I thought about the many ways God has blessed our family and just how much fun we had together.
